I got pregnant with our second 13 months after my c-section, after I was cleared to start trying again.

I was advised to wait a year after my first emergency csection. I got pregnant right before the 1 year mark and had a complicated pregnancy from the beginning. I had a blood clot that caused bleeding, placenta previa, and gestational diabetes. It was terrible.

After my csection, my doctor advised me to be very careful and try to avoid pregnancy if possible for st least 8 months to a year. Pregnancies close together after a section increase the risk of uterine ruptures, and placenta problems. A year is the ideal time to wait between trying but, of course, that is up to you and your doctor.
