Is this normal? Freaking out...

I had a c-section May 28th 2018 (my first baby). I had my first period in the middle/end in June, it wasn’t light but wasn’t heavy. I started taking birth control again (generic brand of the one I used to take) in July. I just got my second period Sunday Aug. 12th and it was very light. Well it’s been 5 days and now my period is very heavy. Within an hour I went through a size “super” tampon. My cramps are off and on but when they come it’s a little painful. I know this may be stupid but is this normal? I haven’t had a heavy period in awhile so I’m kinda freaking out. Please no rude comments...
