How important is it for sibling names to match?

Define match. I think sibling names should coordinate, but that doesn't mean they have to have the same letters. For instance, I would not pair something modern like Kingsley, with a classic like Jonathan. I prefer them to have a similar feel. But that's my two cents on the subject.

“Sam and Ella! Time for dinner!” Sounds like salmonella.

My step sons name is Jase and my daughters is Elimine. Matching wasn’t a thing when we were naming her but his ex wife chose their sons name(before duck dynasty) and elimine is a name in my family that we mutually agreed on

Me and my brother are Stormie and Blake. Our names don’t match I guess, but I’ve heard them together my whole life so I feel like they flow lol.

I pretty strongly dislike “themes” I think it’s cheesy and unnecessary and takes away from the individuality of each child. I do however think names should go well... my daughter is Cybele so I immediately voted out all the super traditional “Thomas” “Andrew” etc makes because they’d end up sounding. Like Dharma and Greg together 😂

I never even thought about matching my kids names 😂 I just make sure we love the same and that I say all 3 without getting super tongue tied lol. My girls are named Addison, Paisley and baby girl in my belly is going to be named kinsley.

They don't need to match but they shouldn't be dramatically different styles. I think it'd be mean to name sisters Arabella and Ryan, for example.
