The nail salon tech called me fat... TWICE

Ok so little background: I’m 20 years old and weight about 210 right now. I hold my weight decently wearing a 14-16. I’ve also been on the keto diet for about a month because it’s the only diet that has worked for me. I started at 217 so I’ve lost 7 pounds which isn’t bad.

My mom and i had met up after work to get our nails done. The owner of the place is a male and just so happens to be Asian. I dont mind one bit he does an ok job on nails (rushes too fast) but other than that no complaints.

He did my nails and when i was finished i went to the drying table, my mom and i were chit chatting waiting on our nails to dry when he comes over and tells me i look just like a girl he saw on Facebook. At first I’m thinking “oh that’s sweet” but then he continues to tell me how she was fat and lost a bunch of weight; so I’m just over here like

Then he has to specify that the girl was like super fat before but she lost the weight.. and then ... y’all... he said “you should do that too” like what?!?

At this point my jaw dropped to the realization he called me fat and all i could do was laugh

Once he realized what he said was rude he went on to say he probably shouldn’t have said that and to forget it. I’m thinking ok maybe something got lost in translation because he had broken English. Nope!

We got up to go pay and leave and he started telling us how his sister(who also worked there) used to be really fat *too* and now she eats like a monkey(think he meant bird) and she hardly eats and is skinny now. First of all she was like 5’1 and 100 pounds if that. Very small frame... then my mom took offense and mentioned how i had been dieting and loosing weight.

So he goes on to say “oh yeah you should try it!” I laughed it off even if it bothered the hell out of me.. and i thought i would share my story for laughs because it really was kind of funny😅
