Surprise Ruined?

Just wondering if anyone’s Midwives/Doctors use a generic he/she when talking about all babies? We were at our 20 week appointment and we definitely heard ‘she’ used more than once when talking about the baby. We didn’t want to find out the sex and while we are thrilled either way we feel a little cheated out of our surprise. I know some apps go one way or the other because no one likes saying ‘it’ so just hoping it could be something like that?

My tech said he up until we found out shes a she. She said she uses he because shes used to saying he for her nephew. My OBs just say "baby" or "the baby" or "fetus" 
They are always very technical.

Whenever my OB talks about the baby she always just says baby, but other doctors may be different!

Mine said he the whole time during my first. She was definitely a girl. The dr. Said that's just what they go with.

My office uses both at different times. Sometimes he sometimes she.

That happened to us with the first baby! Then we chose to find out with the second. Now we are hoping to wait until birth to find out. Our 20w anatomy scan went well. I tried not to listen to her though. Haha I’m sorry you feel cheated. Who knows she could just be messing with you!

The doctor and ultrasound tech called my daughter a he, because that was their go to. They generally don’t like saying “it”. This time around (I’m having a boy) but the tech would go back and forth between she/he before we knew, as that was her go to.

My doctor exclusively says “he”. He did this before we found out it was a boy.
