When Will I Start Feeling Better???

My baby is a week old today. After 36 hours of laboring after my water had already broken, I ended up having to have her via c-section because I couldn’t get past 5cm despite pitocin and what should have been effective contractions (turns out somewhere between my admission at Triage and my “arrest of dilation,” she’d flipped transverse!) My Doctor ended up giving me staples rather than sutures/stitches because I was so miserable on the OR table (couldn’t stop throwing up, couldn’t stop shaking, etc), and staples were quicker than stitching me back up. I had my staples removed yesterday. I thought my pain would get better after having them removed, but it actually seems worse. When I stand up from sitting on the toilet, or when I reach to wipe after using the bathroom, or if I attempt to turn over in bed, my incision feels like it’s on fire! Even walking is feeling more difficult... When can I expect to start feeling better? Any advice for managing the pain? This is my first baby and I hadn’t anticipated needing a c-section, so I’m kinda clueless about the whole recovery process.
