8 days old today and just noticed this on his leg. He had a sponge bath a few hours ago, could it be an allergic reaction to the soap or does it look like something else??

It definitely looks like an allergic reaction. Maybe hives? I would call his pediatrician.

Looks like bites to me. Possibly flea bites. Any pets in the home? I think if he was reacting to the soap, it would have happened right away and possibly on more parts of his body

My daughter had this! It’s a newborn rash- there is a technical name (ereythema toxicum). It’s totally normal & harmless. Spots can be there one morning and then gone by evening and in a totally different spot. My daughter is about to turn 6 weeks and will still get a spot or two here or there.
