Kinslie Joy Broek
Our beautiful baby girl decided to make her appearance 2 weeks early. Our original due date was September 3rd but my water broke at 4:30am on August 21st.
My labour experience was great. We got to the hospital around 5:15am, they checked to see how dilated I was & I was only 1-2cm at that time & only 30% effaced. They admitted me and started me on Oxytocin to get things moving along quicker. I stayed at 2-3cm for a few hours, when my OB came to check me I was still 3cm, then my nurse checked me 10 minutes later & I was 6cm. Contractions started to get painful & very uncomfortable. She checked me 10-20 minutes later with contractions coming every 3-4 minutes lasting 1-2 minutes becoming even more painful & I was 7cm. She called down & I got the epidural right away. (Which I STRONGLY recommend) after getting the epidural things started to move veryyyy quickly. My contractions became every 30 seconds lasting 1 minute and let me tell you by the looks of the monitor I would not have wanted to feel those bad boys and I’m so glad I didn’t. I am not afraid to admit I am a big wuss when it comes to pain! I got to 10cm very quickly, during birth Kinslie got stuck and she had to be vacuumed out, they also had to cut me, if they didn’t I was going to tear upwards and I did not want that, they said the recovery it is even more painful with an upwards tear. Kinslie came screaming into this world at 3:31pm after 39 minutes of pushing, weighting 7lbs 10oz 15inches.
She is the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen & I am so thankful she’s mine. What an unconditional love & bond we have already.
