Can you have a period while pregnant?

Can you have a period (or what seems like one) if you are pregnant? My period was MUCH lighter than normal, only lasted 4 or 5 days, and I had no cramps. I always have a full 7 day period with heavy bleeding and cramps. I have not taken a pregnancy test.
