37 weeks, leakage smells like ammonia??

I have read different things about what the smell of ammonia leakage could mean. I just thought it was urine but my reading has me a little worried and doctors are closed today. Anyone have any insight??

Went to my doctor this morning and it was indeed urine but actually a bacterial infection, which she said probably caused the change in smell!

I don’t remember the smell but my water broke and it was a leak rather than a full gush. Before my water broke I wasn’t sure if what was on my underwear was urine, discharge or amniotic fluid. How I knew mine was amniotic fluid was the following:
- my underwear was soaked rather than a spot or a circle 
- when I was on the toilet, the liquid was dribbling out with me holding what could possibly be pee
-the was little blood when I wiped
I’m sure there are other signs and others may have not experienced what i did but I wanted to pass along the info. Good luck!

Ammonia almost always means urine, amniotic fluid has either no small or a sweet smell. Put a pad or liner on so you can try to detect a color as well.

Same happen to me it was pee!! I was embarrassed they said to drink more water
