Come to the baby shower with no gift?

Is this rude? Like why come with no gift then be eating the whole time and not wanting to play games then leave early? How would you ladies feel?
It was my sister she has 2 girls never does anything for their bday I always do they are 9 and 10. And she is so mean to them I wanted the kids to come so they could eat but she came too. She wasnt invited

I wouldve been unhappy with someone not bringing a gift but it wouldnt have been a deal breaker until i saw them sucking down all the food and just being a sore loser by not participating or engaging in any of the events at the babyshower. Its kinda insulting. If all they wanted to do was sit around and eat, they couldve did that at home

I didn’t allow it it’s pointless of someone to come without a gift and do that it’s to celebrate the baby and mom to be not to come and eat free food....I would have asked them to leave

Personally, I was so glad to spend time with the people I loved. I invited 45 people and only about 10 of them came. I got a few presents, but I was so happy with the few people that showed up. I don’t think it’s rude because showers are about celebrating the baby, to me. I know everyone is different though! 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s not great but it’s not something I would fuss over. Baby showers have evolved so much and for many people are just as much about celebrating the new baby as they are preparing the parents with the things they will need. Some people just don’t understand that they’re something most parents really rely on in order to help get them set for baby to arrive.

had my baby shower yesterday and my parents, my brother and his wife, my other “brother” all showed up with no gifts and all of my friends that rsvp’d didn’t even show. i had only 4 gifts and 3 were from my friend that threw the shower. i was a little upset but what can you do?

If she wasn’t invited then I’d definitely be pissed. Sounds like she just came for the free food which if its a family bbq or cookout fine lmao but a baby shower? Nah. That’s disrespectful. Not only to not bring a gift but to not participate and leave early? Yeah I’d have to have a few words with her.
