I need help! Building milk supply
I’m so upset! My son just turned 3 weeks yesterday. For the first week, it was great. I am exclusively pumping for many reasons. I’m not comfortable breastfeeding, and he has a lip tie so it’s hard for him to latch anyways not that it matters. I just like pumping more. Anyways, the first week I was pumping every 2 hours and getting 8-10 oz each time. Building a great supply. Then we traveled to a new state where we are currently staying. When we got here, my cord broke to my pump. No big deal, I can use batteries. For ONE day, I couldn’t pump because the batteries died and my husband was at work. Since then, I have had basically no supply. It’s been 2 weeks since then and I’m still pumping every 2-3 hours and getting maybe an ounce from both breasts put together. I’m drinking 2-3 cups of mothers milk tea, eating lactation cookies too. I’m heartbroken 😭😭 what can I do?? I pump for at least 10-15 minutes after the last drop to try to stimulate it. But nothing is working.
With my last 2 kids I pumped only and never dried up like this. It took months of no pumping for my breast to quit hurting and leaking. This time, I rarely leak and my breasts never feel full anymore. Any tips?
