need some advice!!

I was recently put on trazadone to help me sleep at night. I am worried about taking it cause I don't know if it will make me so tired and asleep that I won't hear my son cry. its just to help me get to sleep. I usually fall asleep okay but I can't stay asleep and when I do wake up it's hard to get back to sleep. what can I do? I am going to the Dr today amd I am planning on telling them my fear about not hearing the baby crying in the night as well I just need some advice please
