Do you take medication for anxiety?

Hello lovely people,

So I am going to the doctor tomorrow to finally get a script for medication. It’s been a decision I’ve been sitting on for a long time. I’ve always been a bit anxious, but after my miscarriage I dealt with depression as well. Slowly my depression has improved but my anxiety levels peaked and have not gone back down in over 2 years. I’ve gone to therapy, I exercise regularly and I completely overhauled my diet. But I can’t begin to heal with this constant hum of anxiety under my skin. Somedays it’s so bad that I will just go through waves of panic attacks and not be able to eat because my stomach is in knots. My therapist, who has helped tremendously, finally told me that it’s ok to need additional support whilst I am healing. After weeks of sitting on it and talking to some of my friends and my husband, I’ve decided it’s time.

I have been on Zoloft before a few years ago, but I just stopped taking it after 3 months because I felt I didn’t need it. Now I think that I felt that way because it was working.

I know that some of you regret taking medication or just do not believe in it, but I am not asking for bad stories (anxious girl doesn’t want to hear horror stories). I am asking the people who DO take it or have taken it and found it HELPED. Please tell me your story. 💜
