It’s actually advised in the UK recently not to check your strings and to leave it to a professional if you have any concerns because the strings can be too short or can go up into your cervix so you can’t feel them and cause unnecessary stress. Also there’s been cases of women pulling out their iud by trying to feel for the strings so it’s not advised

I never do. When I feel the strings I have the sudden urge to pull it out. So...... yeah, I kinda avoid checking them.
