Cartilage piercings-can you re-pierce in same spot?

For my 21 birthday I got two cartilage piercings (on the same ear, same side too) and I did have issues with healing. Where each piercing was there were bumps (not keloids) that lasted pretty much 2 years but finally started going away. I was pregnant at 22 and at 34 weeks I had to get an mri so they made me take my piercings out and I tried to keep them open as the rest of my pregnancy went on but they closed while I was in the hospital after delivery. My question is, could I get them pierced in the same spots? Or would that be a bad idea?
