When can I make my baby room into a baby room?

We have a spare room that will be the babies, it’s already recently decorated so we won’t be doing it again (it’ll suit both a boy and girl). My parents have bought us a Moses basket already, I’ll be 14 weeks tomorrow. I told my parents I wanted them to hold onto it for now but I really can’t wait to start having the room fill up with baby stuff. What are the rules/superstitions about having cots and baby things in the house before the baby is born? I will have my second scan in 7 weeks time so I though maybe after that scan I’ll start to move things into the room and get pictures put up and make it all nice and cosy. Thoughts?? 🤔💭

There are no rules. Do it whenever you want. I reccomend sooner than later because once you get big it makes everything so much harder

Do what works for you!!! We had to wait until I was almost 30 weeks because we were moving into a new house, but even then I had a huge box of clothes that my mom had started working on when we found out the sex around 12weeks! (I did the blood test at the doctor’s office and it was accurate!)

When I had my 1st my family members told me not to keep the pushchair in the house it’s a generation thing (my mum and nan). So I done what they said and kept it at my elderly neighbours next door she offered to store it. But that was the only thing I didn’t bring into the house till had my son. With my second son I didn’t even bother buying his pushchair till he was born(didn’t need it as had another c-section and stayed in for a week). Other then the pushchair everything else was at our house, I didn’t set up the crib till couple weeks before I was due as I didn’t want it to collect dust. And now 27wks with our 3rd and babies  furniture all set up storing all the things I’ve brought baby, but our brand new crib sat in a box and won’t be setting that up till near the end. 😊

How long would you guys wait to do the regestry?  My husband wanted to do it this weekend but I'm only 10wks going on 11.  I feel like if I add stuff now it might be out of stock come January.

I've heard some superstitions about not until the baby is born, which is crazy because who wants to shop or set up after that?! I'd say aim for first/second trimester when you're feeling best! Whenever you feel comfortable doing it :) I'll probably wait until 10 week u/s or maybe the gender reveal. I feel odd decorating now lol

With my kids, I pretty much started right away. I'm pregnant with number 3/but number 4 in the house and he is in my room for now. We have to add on our house which will be started by the end of the year.  So he will be born this friday coming up and no room yet. But it is what it is. My other kids are 10,11,&13. So much to old to share a room with a baby. Can't wait until we start the room additions for more room in this house of ours.
