My husband has always wanted a corgi. I wanted to surprise him. So I signed up for email notifications from every shelter in the state. I got an email about a German Shepherd/Corgi mix on Wednesday morning. My husband was in class all day Wednesday, where I was only in class until 4. So as soon as I finished, I drove 4 hours, over 200 miles, to check out this little girl and surprise my husband.

(I had previously gotten permission from my husband to get another dog, so I knew he was ok with it. He didntknow I was going to look at a dog on Wednesday, and he didn’t know I was trying to find a corgi, so she was a surprise to him! But I would never bring home a pet without talking to him first!)
