Eczema help?

Hey mommas, my 5 month old has pretty bad eczema on his head. I know it isn’t cradle cap because it’s red and itchy. My poor boy is constantly scratching it until it bleeds and cutting his nails and mittens don’t help because he can take them off! I need some treatments please!!

Two of my kiddos have had severe eczema and the best way we treated it was doing oatmeal baths and using eczema cream. It helps bring the inflammation down. Vaseline is always a good way to look in moisture as well. Try and make sure when you bathe the baby that you pat lightly to dry them off instead of rubbing the skin or it can cause irritation. Hope your little one gets some relief soon!

Go see a doctor, I tried everything possible for my son but he had eczema with a fungus so we had to get some special prescription stuff.

Not sure how often you bathe baby but the less the better, the soap you’re using could also be aggravating the eczema. My other suggestions would be what other posters have said, best of luck and hope babes eczema clears up soon!

Mix hydrocortisone cream with Vaseline or coconut oil. These help my LO with her eczema

My kids have terrible eczema and I was putting steroid cream on it an it wouldn’t heal. Not to mention you can’t use it long term because it makes your skin thin. My doctor suggested we try Neosporin Eczema lotion and it’s working awesome!!!! Even on my daughters face! Her rash cleared up in two days. I could only find it on Amazon.
