How do I have PID?

Question

I have 1 partner my husband. I was tested and treated with my husband for chlamydia like 2 years ago. I have got 3 pap smears done and all of a sudden the er does the finger examination and diagnoses me with pid because it was hurting when he put his fingers all the way up there. My blood work I have gotten a few weeks ago doesn't show infection or anything. I don't get why all of a sudden I apparently have PID. 
So now what my husband has to get seen for PID too?

PID typically occurs when an infection like chlamydia goes untreated for a long period of time. Not after it’s been treated appropriately. It’s possible your attending physician was just an insensitive idiot during the exam. That happened with my son when I went to the ER pregnant. They wanted to check my cervix since I was experiencing premature contractions and the guy was so indelicate, it hurt. They never cried PID though. And if it hurt when he did that and you do have PID, you should be experiencing regular pain during sex as well.

If you have had an infection before you are at risk of getting pid, but you should have a blood and urine test done to confirm pid
