Building up body endurance for jogging / running

So I’ve been going to the gym for a solid 3 weeks now, entering week 4 and my endurance has definitely improved. My issue is when jogging, my legs just can’t keep up.

So I do leg days and I’m fine but I guess certain muscles are getting activated when I jog and I honestly can’t remember when was the last time I jogged before 4 weeks ago.

I jog about 5/6 minutes without stopping and my calves tense up SO HARD & feels like I’m going to get a cramp.

Should I be doing intervals in the mean time ? Like walk 2 min, jog 2 min etc? Since I’m starting out ?
