Formula ?? Constipation

Question

My little one is on similac advance. She is almost 6 wks . She will poop fine some days and then will go days  without, she has a really hard time going. She gets fussy and pushes and pushes,  to the point where she gets red , and nothing comes out . She does pass a lot of gas! 
Could it be the formula causing her to get constipated? Should we switch ?

I really didn't like Similac formula. I recommend trying Gerber (just my recommendation). Gerber gentle was so similar to breastmilk and seemed thinner/easier on babies tummy than Similac. Good luck momma.

We’re having the same issue, though she’s on similac pro sensitive (we switched from pro advance due to gas). Our dr said to add a 1/4 tsp of light karo syrup to 1 bottle per day. We’ve been doing this for a week now and it’s only slightly helped so she suggested upping it. Starting that today so will see what happens. She said it’s just the fortified iron in the formula causing it.

It is common for formula babies to be constipated.  And your. Any being only six weeks I’d say ask a doc.  Idk about giving someone so young prune juice. (That’s my other comment)

Try semilac sensitive.  If still constipated. Maybe really watered down prune juice
