I live on the coast of SC, around the Myrtle Beach area.

In October 2015 when I was supposed to get married, we had extreme flooding from Hurricane Joaquin. I’d rented a gazebo in a river park for the ceremony, and 3 days before my ceremony, it was under 4 feet of water. We had to get a different venue last minute, which cost so much we had to cancel our honeymoon. Ever since, we typically don’t plan anything for our anniversary because there’s usually a hurricane or tropical storm lurking around.

Now Florence is about to blow through when I’m in my third trimester. My house loses power super easy, and it’s still generally around 90-95 degrees here right now.

Can someone please remind me to stop doing stuff during hurricane season? 😑🤬
