1st Birthday Party (Please read👇)

Our LO will be 1 next month, party will be 13th. Need opinions on party options. Hubbys side of the fam is pretty judgemental/not great to be around. So we want something that can also have distractions vs just sitting in our house with them.

Options:

Pool party which I feel might be too old for her but swimming, pizza and cake for the guests.

Rent a event space for pretty low cost and invite a bunch more people so there's more than just my hubs side plus a couple of my family members. (That's all we'd be able to have in our home.)

Aquarium/Nature Exhibit with just hubs side and my aunt and sister which in this scenario we'd ask that in lieu of a gift they just pay admission ($12 for adults, $9 for 3 yr and up.) But not sure if it's rude to ask them to pay even if it replaces the gift.
