Help!

Okay so this is kind of long but not too long... Anyways I had my son 13 months ago and I breastfed so I was on the mini pill birth control well I went back Aug to get a check up and to change my BC so I decided on the mirena and she said best thing is to switch to regular pill to transition to regular hormones then schedule for next available insertion date to get the IUD then continue the regular pill for a week after just to cover til it kicks in.. so after a week I stopped the pill and 4 days later I got my period mind you I haven't really had one in over a year maybe spotting here and there for about three days and that happened maybe 5 times since having him.. so now I'm still spotting off and on and cramping.. is this normal? Anyone else experience this and also after the inserted it I felt like I was in labor but they checked it both by inside and ultrasound... Any advice??
