BF & pumping/ jaundice
I wanted to breast feed my baby and got prepared with a pump and everything just in case. He's 5 days old and we were told his jaundice was at a level 6 when we got discharged from the hospital. I was reading that formula feeding makes it go away faster, so I started formula feeding cause he wasn't latching and now I'm beginning to pump. I want to give him my milk, but formula feed as well to help him get rid of the jaundice faster, but idk how to go about that or when to formula feed and when to breast feed. Right now he's eating about 2 to 2 1/2 oz of formula per feeding. Sometimes he'll eat every 3 hours, sometimes every 2 if he only has 2oz of milk. He tends to fall asleep before he's done with his bottle sometimes and that's when he'll be hungry in 2 hours. I'm trying to figure this out for my baby, but I'm finding it kind of hard to figure out how or when to feed bread milk and when to feed formula. I feel so pressured into breast feeding, but I also know it's good for my baby. I've been pumping and when I do, I feel light headed for a little while after idk why.
