Hospital bag- when and what to pack?

Just wondering when you started packing your hospital bag and what did you put in it?

I never packed one because my water broke at 35 weeks, but honestly I wouldn’t have used anything I planned on packing. Just slippers and loose clothing

Seriously I used my night gown and an outfit to bring baby home   I wore the same clothes home that I did going into the hospital (I was induced so I had those on for less than an hour before changing into the hospital gown). Everything else stayed in the bag   And I didn’t even pack that much stuff 
Just remember the more stuff you bring in the more you have to carry back out. Plus the baby and carrier. And the stuff the hospital gives you. And if you have visitors that bring you stuff   
You’re not there that long

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair comb,  hair tie, tooth brush and tooth paste. Slippers or socks, two comfortable outfits for yourself, two outfits for baby, a phone charger, and some snacks.

Yeah I’m 35 weeks tomorrow but OB thinks that its time to start packing because little man might be here early. This is my second but I was a single mom when I delivered 4.5 years ago with my first. So we’re trying to get input on if the dad needs anything as well.

I packed the night before I was induced, so 37x6 & packed clothes for my fiancé, clothes for me, tooth brushes, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, other self-care stuff. 
For baby; I packed a change of clothes to leave in and binkies. I left a lot of space because my hospital let’s you take everything they provide; diapers, wipes, blankets, formula etc. so I left space for all that to come home with us

I packed at 37 weeks; I packed clothes for me & my fiancé, phone charges, hair brush, make up, bobby pins, pony tails, extension cord, straightener, blow dryer, blanket, pillow, slippers, robe, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss (it came with travel pack), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, pads, underwear, big padded bra, nipple cream, breast pads. 
For baby: 
2 coming home outfits for baby (1 newborn & 1 0-3 months), blanket, always have diapers & wipes in diaper bag but didn’t use it. The hospital provided most of everything for me so I didn’t have to bring my whole house lol.
