C-section confusion
So after being scheduled for a c-section on Thursday, getting there and told that they had to move it to Saturday was the worst feeling in the world.
I was hot, tired, and miserable from being pregnant. Not only that, this is my 1st and she was breech so we had to schedule a section and I was scared and finally come to terms with it by Thursday morning. I full out bawled.
But finally Saturday comes around and we get in the room and start getting prepped. Get the ok we are about to go and go to the Operating room. They do the spinal tap and I start feeling tingly immediately. They get me laid down and start the prep work. It's only been about 15 minutes so far.
Then my husband comes in and they start taking the baby out. She is out in less than 10 minutes. They clean her and bring her around the curtain and instantly cry tears of joy. They spend the next 15-20 minutes seeing me up and doing all the measurements for the baby. Not only was she breech but she weighed 8lbs 13oz and 21" long.
They wheel me out to recovery where I get to do skin to skin and the baby is fed for the first time. We are there for an hour and then taken to the maternity ward for the rest of our stay. They played the happy birthday song on our way. Lol
I have to say I was really nervous about the whole procedure but it was so simple and everyone was so supportive and informative on everything they were doing.
The only problem I had was that I couldn't keep anything down because of the medicine so I had to be put back on an iv and wasn't able to get up until the next sat and my husband had to pretty much do everything with the baby.
I am sore but it is manageable. Just wanna say if anyone else has to get a c-section, it is not as scary as it seems.
