When should you get your first ultrasound?

I’m new to pregnancy I’m currently four weeks and need some assistance

I’m waiting as long as possible because I don’t want any of the they only saw a sac drama.
So I like to wait till 12 weeks.

Just got mine done yesterday at 7 weeks 3 days. It’s still early so you cannot see much but we did get to see the little heart flicker. They typically wait 7-8 for an early one for the heart beat to be seen.

Depends on your doc some do it at 8 others at 12. Some do it at 7 weeks for everyone except high risk cases which they do earlier and more frequent scans...

I’m getting mine done right at 9 weeks. My doctor said she wanted to wait till then so they could get a better picture of the baby.

With my first I didn’t have an ultrasound until 20 weeks. They just used a Doppler to listen and as long as there was a heartbeat they were happy. That was standard for the practice I was going to - one of the biggest in my area. In all it was fine, I had no issues, but I’m at a different, smaller practice now due to insurance and they do it at 8-10 weeks. I wouldn’t want one any sooner than that. Maybe Doppler to hear the heartbeat but not an ultrasound.

I think it depends on the office. With my first I had an ultrasound my first visit at 6 weeks. I’ll be at a new place this time, I’m currently waiting for them to call me back about scheduling my first appointment.

I am gonna do it at 5 weeks to make sure ot is not ectopic.
