If you ovulate normally and were prescribed clomid what was your 1st round dose and outcome of 1st cycle ?

I'm curious, I thought chlomid was to stimulate ovulation. Why would you be prescribed it if you're already ovulating?
I'm just asking because I'm seeing a fertility specialist in a couple of weeks and they say that ovulation medication is included in th consult so I thought they'd just not give it to me considering I'm ovulating but now I'm thinking otherwise.

1st round: 50mg not pregnant 
2nd round: 100 mg pregnant with twins
