Brightened ovum

I had a brightened ovum with my first pregnancy found out at 8weeks but had spotting for a week and half before. Then had a healthy daughter but she was born at 32 weeks. Now I was told with this preg I was expecting twins, last scan found out there is now only one and that at 6w2days they could only see an empty sac. Get confirmation this is the case next week. I just don’t understand... should I get testing to see if anything is wrong? I heard brightened ovums are a one time occurrence. I’m so devistated!!!
