Do they always give progesterone after IUI?

We just did our first IUI (using clomid and trigger shot) today and I wasn't given progesterone. The nurse was the one who mentioned it and when she looked at who my doctor was she said "oh that doctor never does progesterone." Should I have been given progesterone afterward? Kind of concerned because the nurse started talking about it like it's pretty routine at that clinic but for some reason my doctor never does it. They also aren't going to check my hormone levels again this cycle, I'm just supposed to take a pregnancy test in 14 days. So how do they know that I don't need the progesterone? My lining was good on day 11 they said but that was my last ultrasound and labs. I've never been pregnant before. Just wondering if it's pretty routine at most clinics to give progesterone after the IUI? If so I'm worried why wasn't I given it? Also I didn't realise until yesterday that they do blind IUIs instead of ultrasound guided. If this doesn't work we'll be going to a different doctor since at the initial consult they made it sound like it would be ultrasound guided.
