Anyone gone to ER for HG?

Question

Anyone here have hypermesis gravidarum and actually went to ER because they couldn't get any food or liquids down? 
I'm like debating on going. It's been days since I ate. I put a single bite of food near my mouth and I vomit stomach acid. I can get fluids down by drinking Pepsi (I know.. weird) but I'm starving. My stomach hurts because I'm starving. I start hyperventilating because I'm starving. I'm on three different nausea medications (zofran, diceglis, and reglan) and none are working. 
For those who went to ER, did they just give you an IV or do they get food in you somehow? I'm like wondering what to do! 
18.5 weeks along now and it's only getting worse instead of better.

I went to OB triage at my hospital twice in one week for fluids. They told me that if it's been 24 hours without food or water to come in. Dehydration is very serious and I hate that I waited so long the first time to get IVs

I started struggling with HG at 5 weeks and at my first appointment at 10 weeks, my doctor literally told me to “toughen up” and that all was normal. So as a FTM I didn’t know any better and suffered for two months until I was fainting and having heart palpitations. When I finally went into triage I was immediately admitted for almost two week, needed a blood transfusion, was down 45 lbs. my situation was a little different because I couldn’t keep any liquids down. I would chug anything and everything because I was SO thirsty and it would immediately come back up. Moral of the story: I honestly don’t know what they will do if it’s only food not staying down. When I was admitted they were only focused on my fluids, if I wasn’t eating they weren’t too concerned. I will say the nausea meds via IV (phenergan and Zofran) worked better for me than orally, for some reason. My biggest recommendation if you’re getting sick often is to ask for the dissolvable Zofran! That way, if you get sick, you’re not losing out on the medication if it comes up. It’s the only thing that worked for me aside from IV meds starting at 22 weeks. Hang in there 💖

I had to go three separate times this pregnancy. They put you on an IV for dehydration and put some nausea meds in the IV. I was given apple juice and crackers after the fluids were in. We had to try many different nausea meds and combos of meds to find what really worked for me. If it's been days since you've kept food and water down I'd definitely go in!

You could call L&D and talk to a nurse. Or your insurance card might have a nurse’s call line that you could use. They would likely be able to recommend whether or not you should go in or if you can wait for a regular visit.

Get to the hospital!!! If your in pain because your hungry,you need help. And the additional stress on baby isn’t good.

I was hospitalized 3 times and had to get a PICC line for at home IV fluids and meds. Luckily around 20 weeks I started feeling better so no IV nutrition. If you’re not keeping any food down you need to talk to you doctor. I would make an OB appointment ASAP. Sorry your going through this!
