Changing OB
Hey y’all.. I need some advice and direction
I have been with the same OB for many many years however, they were acquired by a larger practice and the only female in my office was a nurse practitioner so I needed to end up seeing someone at the new practice which I was very happy about as they were closer to my house they had the capability of doing labs and ultrasounds in the office and they use the hospital that’s the best in the area and also convenient to home... however, hubby and I were TTC for about nine months until we got pregnant called the office was brought in for urine sample and then didn’t have first prenatal visit until 9 weeks had an ultrasound and unfortunately there was no growth and I was sent home to make the decision of see if my body will pass the tissue on it’s own... cytotec or have a d&e.. we decided the cytotec would just be best with our schedules at that time.. so I gave myself the rest of the week and that weekend took the cytotec went through hell {I’d never do that again nor wish that pain on anyone} went for check up two weeks later and was informed I retained some tissue and I would need to have the d&e after all... everything went smooth and we were cleared to try after one cycle.. and we got pregnant right away.. I had slight spotting at 6 weeks 3 days and my office brought me And we did a bedside ultrasound we saw a heartbeat but it wasn’t regular and I was advised to follow up in a week.. the next week we were told there was no heartbeat and our baby had stop growing at 6 weeks 5 days.. I had the same options as the first time around and I thought I’d spare myself the cytotec but I figured I’d take some time for myself and maybe my body would pass it all on its own I waited two weeks.. trying to go about my life knowing I was carrying my dead baby.. I didn’t end up passing anything and scheduled my d&e.. this time we decided to have the tissue tested and was advised that it was due to chromosomal issues which is what my OB assumed was the first miscarriage reasons but we didn’t have that confirmed.. we waited the three cycles to begin trying and it’s so far been four.. I’ve been debating for the last few months of changing my OB as we were basically just told we have bad luck.. they won’t do any testing until I have three consecutive miscarriages.. we did go to a chromosomal specialist and they also didn’t feel the need to do any testing on myself or husband.. so after talking with some fellow mom friends one who has gone through what I have I decided to schedule a consultation with her office.. we will go on October 15th.. I called today to see if any earlier appointments are available as we’ve been trying to get pregnant and my fear is I’ll get pregnant before my consultation.. I advised the new OB of that today and they said regardless they won’t bring me in until 8 weeks.. I REFUSE to wait 8 weeks and have to maybe go through another miscarriage my old OB was going to do early on blood test and monitor my levels however I wanted to leave there because they made me feel like I’m just a statistic and I’ve heard they aren’t into progesterone etc as they feel if you’re gonna miscarry nothing will change that.. which I get yet my mom and aunt had to be put on progesterone to carry their babies to term.. my question is how would you go about this.. are there other places I could look into to get my levels checked early on if my new practice won’t do so... if you have any light to shed please do! TIA sorry for the long post.
