Vaginal birth first time mom

Elizabeth • (01/08/2018) Nia Julia ❤️👸🏽 Happily married ❤️

On the 31st July around 12 noon I started having cramps like period but I wasn't really paying attention to them because at my 38 weeks doctor visit my doctor told me that I wasn't dilated at all and my due date was on the 3rd August but I knew I was going to have my baby end of July or beginning of August. So these cramps carried on but I wasn't sure if I am in labor because I haven't lost my mucus plug and my water didn't break, so I told my husband around 6pm that I might be in labor and he said he doesn't think so since my water hasn't broken yet. We carried on with the night but the cramps weren't stopping or getting any better and I kept going to the toilet, I felt like I needed to pee but every time I went to the toilet nothing really came out. We went to bed around 11 pm but I couldn't sleep at all my contractions got really painful and uncomfortable, it was a bit hot that night too, my husband fell asleep and I was just sitting on the bed, I filled up the bathtub with water got in to see if the pain was going to get better but nah the pain was just getting worse. I went back to bed but I couldn't sleep at all, around 2am I woke up my husband to take my to the hospital, the hospital is just 2 minutes drive from our place, we got to the hospital, they checked me but I wasn't dilated at all my cervix was still closed, what a disappointment😔 Doctor said even though I was having contractions they can not admit me, I had to go home. We went back home around 3:30 am, when we got home it was raining and the weather was perfect for sleeping, we went to bed again my husband fell asleep right away but I still couldn't sleep, I let him sleep while just being next to him and not able to sleep. At 9 am on the 1st August, he woke up made me breakfast, brought it to me in bed but I didn't feel like eating because of the pain. At 11 am I told my husband to take me back to the hospital, we got there, they hooked me on some monitors to check my contractions and the heart beat of my lil angel, my contractions where 8 minutes apart and sometimes 5, so the midwife checked me and said, you are now 2 cm open, I was happy about it because I haven't done anything to induce labor at all, I was lazy 😁

So I got admitted in the hospital, the midwife said I can go to my room with my husband to( the room I will be after the baby has been born) so at 2pm we went to my room stayed there until 6pm I was just laying on the bed and sometimes I set since the pain was getting intense. We went back to the ward, so my midwife checked me around 8pm(this was a new midwife and was very very nice) and said to me you are 8 cm open, oh I cried tears of joy because I was so happy about it and since I didn't want any medications, I just wanted it to be all natural.

The pain was getting really really intense and I kept going to the toilet felt like I needed to pee but nothing was coming out, so the midwife asked me if I wanted to be in a tub full of water, I said I can try

This is me in the tub

And then my midwife has to go, her shift has ended. Oh God the next midwife I got was an angel, she checked my cervix and it was completely open but at this point my water hasn't broken yet. So they left me in the room with my husband and the contractions were really really getting very worse and I just wanted the baby out of me, I had this very badcontraction and my husband tried to touch me saying "you got this my queen" I almost bite off his head, I told him I didn't want him touching me and I didn't want to hear him talk 😁 at this point I was crying really loud but the more I cried the more the pain got worse. The midwife came in the room again and I told her that I wanted the baby out, she told me "OK" I will break your water then, she broke my water, it was not bad it didn't hurt just a bit uncomfortable

She said to me whenever I had a feeling of pushing I must let her know. Boy, I didn't have the feeling to push yet but I lied since I just wanted to be free from the pain, I said to her I want to push now, she said ok let's try, you have to stop when I say stop ok, I did one push but wasn't a good one I was losing my breath and screaming then I tried a real push where I pushed like I was shitting 😁 and didn't scream this time the baby was out until the shoulders and I pushed again and my baby girl was out with her eyes wide open and didn't look so pretty but I loved her so much. When they placed her on my chest I said to her I am your mommy and I love you welcome to the world. My poor husband was covered in blood and just stood there and out of words

I only pushed for 7 minutes

Oh and I gave birth in style guys, my midwife (very young lady maybe 23 and really nice also made me feel comfortable) put my one leg on her shoulder while laying on the side, my left side and that's how I gave birth.

I didn't tear but I had a labia majora tear which was very painful especially when I had to pee. No stitches
