Hiring for jobs based on looks?

Have you ever been hired for a job that you think you got based on your looks? Have you ever hired someone for their looks?

I can honestly say I have been given jobs based on my appearance. This has been on my mind bcs recently I was offered a job I didn’t go looking for. They found me. I told the CEO who wanted to hire me to be his assistant that I am only working part time but paid a full salary so I couldn’t leave my current set up. He then changed his whole tune and immediately offered me the same thing. I said well I’m not really interested in learning a new job right now. He then said don’t worry it’s easy! Like I do have a decent amount of experience and I have worked for some high profile CEOs but I know there are far more suitable candidates. I wonder if he just hiring me bcs he’s attracted to me?

Have you ever felt you were hired because they found you attractive?

Have you ever felt you didn’t get the job because they didn’t find you attractive? I’ve had that too before when I couldn’t get a bar job for the life of me.

And just recently we hired a sales guy completely based on his appearance. Literally when we sat in the boardroom we all made a comment on how attractive he was. There were just as qualified if not more qualified candidates then him.
