What do you do for maternity leave?

I had paid maternity leave as a manager at my store but they took the position away from me. I get 4 weeks of leave but no pay. I’m not sure what to do now. At this point, I’m stressed and we are very tight on money as it is so we can’t save up. What did you do for your maternity leave and how did you afford it?

Is it legal to take your manager position away from you?  That's my first question. I would consult a lawyer or something!
I am blessed to live in NJ. We get 6 to 8 weeks (depending on delivery) paid through the state for disability.  And then an additional 6 weeks paid through the state for baby bonding.  You have to meet a certain amount of hours and pay to qualify, and it's only 70% of your salary.  Only way I can afford to stay home at all.
Plus we have food stamps, Medicaid, and I will be going to WIC.

In pretty sure they have to give leave but only after a certain amount of time working there do they give pay  and not all places give pay while on leave. That's the businesses decision

Ill use my sick time and pto, then the rest will be paid out as a portion of my salary through a didability.program.

With both my precious kids, I don’t know how I did it. It’s been so long. I went back to work at 4 weeks with my daughter. We are probably having to have to borrow money from hubbys 401k. Is there anyway to start saving now?

I get 6 weeks (8weeks if I have a csection) paid with short term disability through work. And I’m to use my pto to take another 6 weeks off.

I have about 3 weeks of vacation time saved up so I’ll be paid for that and 6-8 weeks through a disability policy I have (not my full salary) but besides that it’s unpaid.
