I know this is gonna be judge mental but my boyfriend is 24 years old. He can’t cook or anything as far as I just found out. I’m really sick at work and they made me hot tea being considerate I didn’t even know were allowed to take tea here. So I told my boyfriend because it’s sweet. And his reaction was he wants to be the only one taking care of me and i was like what do you mean? (he hasn’t done anything to take care of me lol) and he said he doesn’t know how to make tea. TEA. i literally said you boil water lol... How would you react? I dont know why this was a turn off to me lol... Is just too lazy to put in effort for me? Keep in mind we’re talking of moving in together but I don’t want to be doing everything 😩

I wouldn’t know how to make tea if so many nurses at work didnt make it. I’ve never been a tea drinker same as I don’t know the first thing about making coffee 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe help him learn these things he might not of ever had an opportunity to learn this stuff.

My mom didnt really show me how to cook, but I moved out on my own which basically threw me into figuring it out for myself. It's really not that hard. If he wanted to make the effort, then he would. Cookbooks, google, experimenting

I’m 24 and idk how to make tea or coffee bc u don’t drink that shit and growing up it wasn’t even in our household. That’s not a big deal. But a man that can’t cook or clean has always been a major turn off to me. My fiancé does primarily all of the cooking bc he actually likes to cook and I don’t. When we moved in together I had to teach his ass how to clean 😂

Believe it or not a lot of young people do not know how to do basic things for themselves. Their parents did it for them their entire life and never showed them how to do it. My brother left to live in the dorms and was showing other 18 year olds how to do their laundry and cook basic meals. lol it’s annoying but at the same time can’t hold it against someone because they were never really taught

I wouldn't say tea is just boiling water. Actually some tea is better with warm, but not boiling water. But that's a different road to go down 😂
I didn't grew up in the best environment. I was often told I couldn't do anything right and now I'm 28 years old and still afraid to be told I'm doing stuff wrong.
My FIL don't know this, but sometimes when he's jokingly had fun because I can't/don't cook and telling its just too easy to get everyone else to do stuff for you, he actually confirms what's in my head. He's not doing it on purpose but I was once told I can't do anything right and now he's telling me I'm lazy and can't do anything right. And then it grows.
I would just smile and learn him to make a good cup of tea 🍵
And then tell him to get over himself. Others can make you tea without it being a problem 😂

I’d be upset to be honest. If he wants to be the only one taking care of you then why doesn’t he make an effort to take care of you? If he has a phone or a computer it’s really easy to look up how to make tea😂. I’d try to talk to him in a nice way and say hey, if you wanna take care of me maybe put in a little more effort 🤷🏼‍♀️.

This would drive me crazy as well. I understand some people grow up in environments where they aren’t taught cooking and stuff like that,but if he really wants to take care of you he better start learning how to cook! Maybe you guys could look into taking some cooking classes together or something. Make it a fun thing.
