Making herself sick?

Question

Olive has been sticking her finger down her throat and making herself gag for a while (I thought it was a teething thing/exploring like “what the heck is this thing back here?”), but now she does it after she eats and makes herself vomit! She has an appointment about it Friday, but is anyone else experiencing this?? It’s terrifying!!

My son did it for awhile when his first molars came in and made himself throw up once or twice. He stopped for a bit and restarted again later but he seemed to do it more as a sensory thing and to get a reaction out of me because I’d tell him to stop and he’d laugh and do it more. He hasn’t done it in awhile now. Just phases. His pediatrician said it was completely normal.

My son’s been doing it since he got his first molars. He made himself throw up once back then. Now he knows it’s a way to get out of the high chair pretty fast, especially if my SO is the one watching him. Sometimes I can distract him with something else, or try to not rush to break the habit. Now he’s getting his second molars and trying to reach them so he threw up a little last night at dinner 😩.
