How should I feel?

Question

So my boyfriend and I have been together for just over 6 years. We’ve discussed marriage, and it’s a sure thing. The only thing that is bugging me is the fact he said he won’t wear a wedding ring unless it’s a special occasion. I mean I could understand if he was in a profession where it’s dangerous to wear one, but he works at a desk.

He says to get him a watch he’ll wear instead. Everyone is allowed to their our preferences, but is it normal to be seriously bugged by his choice?

 but also ask if its cause he doesnt like wearing stuff on his fingers? my sisters hubby hates stuff on his fingers as well as mine but my sisters husband got his tattooed on, my husband is gonna do the same we just havent had money to do it yet. 😊 i would ask what L said first tho just so he'll be honest.

My husband doesn’t wear his on his finger.. he works in a job that it’s dangerous for him to wear it there and I completely get that..but it took me a very long time (still working on it honestly) to accept that he doesn’t like wearing rings and doesn’t wear it on his own time either. He will wear it when we go somewhere special but he fiddles with it a lot because he feels strange to him because he’s never adjusted.. he does wear it everyday but he wears it on a chai around it neck that he can tuck away... there are still times it bothers me but I had to stop looking at it as though it was a gauge of how much he loves me or our marriage. Some days it’s still annoying, I wear my ring proud... but I know he’s proud of our marriage as well; but I do voice my feelings about it so he’s aware and can be sensitive about it with me.. be honest and do your best to compromise

So we discussed it again today. I tried telling him how I feel about it in slightly different wording, and he said that he will try wearing it for a month when we get married. If it still feels weird having something on his finger he’ll just wear it for special occasions and family functions. Him saying that he will give it an actual shot makes me feel a lot better about it, but I’m glad I posted about it on here. All of your advice helped. Thank you! 😊

My husband didn’t wear his for the first 6 year because of his job. Then after that he was just use to not wearing it. He keeps it in a safe place at home. It doesn’t bother me at all because if he goes out without me he’s always talking about me anyways so everyone knows he’s married.

My parents have been married 30 some + years now and my father has never really worn his wedding ring *shrugs*
I don't think I would care if my bf and I got married and he didn't wear a ring that's me though

I absolutely hate feeling my blood flow or my heart beat so if I wear a ring and it gets stuck I panic and imagine my finger exploding, blood everywhere, screams death the whole 9. I get like this when getting my blood pressure taken too ha. So I don’t wear my promise ring, maybe he’s the same lol
