epidural for a c section

so I'm really scared to get a epidural. I've been reading a lot about them but I can't find anything about the pain for those who have to have a planned c section. everyone else keeps saying you can't feel it because the contents are so bad. so if I'm having a planned c section with no contractions is it going to hurt
