irish twins...thoughts? 👶👶

Question

my husband & i desperately tried for two years to conceive & are finally believing this is our rainbow (14 weeks next monday!). we have always known we want 3-4 kids, and honestly pictured ourselves already having one & trying for another by now. that is still the plan. i have been around babies & kids most of my life & know firsthand how much work goes into a newborn. when we tell people we’ll likely start trying for #2 after #1 is a few months old, we obviously get more bewildered looks than supportive ones haha. does anyone else have children super close together? thoughts? 
our thought is, we’d rather have them closer in age, development, and size, as most everyone else we know has 2-3 year apart siblings & the thought of chasing a toddler while dealing with nausea, or having a toddler who is very aggressive/hits the baby (a friend is dealing with this rn)...i don’t know. obviously it could take us another two years to conceive #2 & we’ll take whatever healthy babe we can get, but i just wanted to hear people’s thoughts! don’t hold back, i want the truth! 😂

I'm an Irish twin!! My brother is 363 days younger than me. Always thought it was pretty cool that we are the same age for 2 days. We were very close growing up.  I'd say do it!!

We started trying to have another baby after our first was 6 months. I wanted to have my kids close in age and be done with it! Sadly, it took us over two years to successfully conceive #2, after 3 MCs. If you can have them close together or try to, I say go for it! My sister and I are year apart and we shared a lot of toys, friends, activities, it was fun having someone to play with and do mischief with. While my husband, his brother and him are over 5 years apart and he wanted our kids to be close in age to play with.
I was nannying a baby a few months younger than my own, and while it had its moments when chaos broke loose, one pooped all over herself, rug, sofa, and the other is screaming his head off, and my dog had a panic attack and was howling to let me know the kids were crying... I look back and laugh! You will have moments where you will have chaos and be over whelmed but also adorable moments when one baby, takes his bottle snd tries to feed the other, or share cookies.
If I was given the opportunity of Irish twins, I would take it.

I got pregnant when my daughter was 12 months. I wanted them to be farther apart but that’s what happened. I have some guilt that it’s not going to be just me, her and daddy anymore. You do what is best for you guys. Personally I could never do it. It’s different when it is your own infant. Also, your body needs time to heal. BUT, I know someone that has 3 kids all Irish twins. They are all perfect and she likes them that close! She is a Superman in my eyes! Idk how people do it! 😊

My son and this baby will be 19 months apart. We wanted them closer but we had a miscarriage a few months ago. That baby and my son would have been 14 months apart! I think it's easier to do all the baby stuff closer together. Get all the bottles and diapers done in one shot!

My SO and I are pregnant with baby number 1 (finally) and we have the same thought! We want them all close together! My mother has 7 children and we’re all very close where as his mother has 3 kids all 4 or more years apart.

Look into the risk of conceiving quickly after delivery. This would also be something to talk with your doctor about. You’d be surprised what risks there are for your inutero baby, yourself and how long different parts of your body take to truly recover from pregnancy and delivery. Do your research.

We started trying for #2 when our Little was 6 months old (took us almost a year to get pregnant with her and I wanted close age gap) 
we got pregnant when she was 7 months so they will be 16 months apart, and we’re so excited! 
I also had a planned c-section with #1 and doc said it was fine to start trying again as soon as we were ready since we’re both in our 30s
If you and your husband want them close I say go for it as soon as your OB says you can, good luck to you and your growing family!

I have a 2 and 3 year old. Also a 6 month old and I’m pregnant again. Lol I’ll have two sets of Irish twins. Hard at first but it gets easier.
