Nephrostomy Tube/Kidney Stones

Miranda

Has anyone else on here dealt with kidney stones during pregnancy? I had one with my first, but it was small and I passed it with no problems. Last Friday I was admitted to the hospital because I have a stone too big to pass and it was blocking my tube. My kidney began to swell and so they placed a nephrostomy tube into my side to drain my right kidney. I’m only 25 weeks and will have this tube until I give birth. Just looking for some positive stories because I’m feeling so overwhelmed. The kidney stone moves and I’m in pain constantly. They prescribed me OxyContin and I hate taking it because I worry about the baby coming out with a dependence for it. But it’s really hard to function without it. On top of all of this, do I still work? My work doesn’t offer any paid maternity leave so 6 months off unpaid is a stress all on its own. Any positive outcomes/stories that will settle my worries?!
