What is it?

So I had an ingrown hair on my area & my friend pulled it out with brand new clean tweezers. It hurt like hell. The next day it was still hurting & my labia majora became swollen. It’s been swollen for some time now & it’s going down. However it is red & there are sores now. I went to the gynecologist & she straight said it looked like herpes. She took samples & i get results soon. I wanted to get a second opinion & went to the emergency room the next day & they said the same thing. Idk what to do. It hurts when I pee & when I walk because of chaffing. I’m scared because I really don’t want it to be that. Maybe it’s just an infection from shaving. I asked the doctor but they weren’t giving me answers & they just made an assumption based on what they saw. Does anyone have answers or suggestions?
