How can I deal with my partner depression?

It’s been a while since I started to date this incredible guy, we have loads of things in common and in no time we get unbelievably attached. I recently found out he is suffering from a severe depression. I stop talking to him last night because I couldn’t handle him talking about death, it was killing me. He told me that he’d see a specialist but still I don’t reply him. What would you do if you were me?

As someone with depression, it would make me even more sad if someone continued to ignore me even after I said I’d get help. I can understand you being upset, but please realize we can’t help feeling the way we do. If you really can’t seem to make it work out, it’s probably best for both of you to just break it off.

As someone who also struggles with depression, I say just do what you’re comfortable doing, but try to be supportive. Show the importance in seeking a therapist. Therapy was the best thing I ever did for myself! You can’t be his personal and free therapist and if that’s what he’s tryin to make you, that’s incredibly unhealthy and unfair. I hope he gets the help he needs soon. Good luck❤️

Help him find the right specialist. 
And also take care of yourself, start talking to someone else too. Maybe even a specialist who can hear you out and guide you to stay healthy yourself besides coaching you in how you can ‘help’ him. And in helping him i don’t mean becoming his therapist, but how to be a partner to him when he get’s in that dark place. 
You may find out that you can or you can’t, wichever is allright. 
Make sure you ‘reload’ yourself. Go to lunch with friends and/or do things you enjoy and give you something positive.
