How do they do this? Does it hurt? I’m 40 weeks on Wednesday and my doctor hasn’t mentioned it at all

It’s just slightly uncomfortable, the doctor takes theirs fingers up the cervix and separates the water from the part of the uterus, I had one at 38 weeks went into labour two days later

Very uncomfortable and strange but not painful. 
My water broke the night I had it done.

No, it doesnt hurt. It feels really weird though. I went into labor 2 days after getting it done.

No it doesn’t hurt it’s not a nice feeling tho but wouldn’t say it’s painful.
