Why is it called a rainbow baby?

Bc it is the rainbow after the storm. The rainbow being the healthy baby, and the storm being the previous miscarriage.

Rainbows come after the rainstorms. The storm being the loss of a child and the rainbow being the healthy child to follow after.

Ok but seriously guys i am from South Africa and some ladies have used that term here aswell... very confusing seeing that south africans sometimes refer to ourselves as the rainbow nation😉

I’m not exactly sure why they came up with rainbow but it signifies a healthy baby after a loss such as a stillbirth or miscarriage.
