thoughts on airport security?

Do you guys go through the detectors and scanners or ask for a pat down? I travel weekly and have been asking for pat downs, just to play it super safe. But wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on this.

The full body scan is safe during pregnancy, per my OB and TSA. But, there’s no harm in opting out of it either.

Every single mom in my mother’s group has said NOT to go through the new security scanners. There haven’t been enough studies. Go through the old kind or ask for the pat down. I can’t tell you how serious these moms are about it so I just listened. Didn’t want to take any risks.

I think its absolutely fine. If you fly weekly and are exposed more often then probably avoid it but every now and then is ok

I only flew once when I was pregnant and it was obvious so they took me to the side and patted me down and didn’t make me go in the scanner

I read that they tested the scanners on pregnant women before implementing them so they’re perfectly safe.
