Whats the process of getting someones tattooed?

I want my grandmother's printing on my arm and I was wondering if I needed to physically bring the writing there (her diary) or I could just send a picture to the tattoo artist? 
Anyone had this done before and know the process?

I think it depends on the shop. I’ve been to four different tattoo shops. 3 of the shops, I went in to show them and have a consultation. And then my other one, we could talk about it, send pictures and all to the artist, and make an appointment over the phone then they’ll draw it up the day of your appointment. I would just call the shop you want to go to, and see how they would like to go about it.

They hate when you just send them stuff. Go there and look at their work. Tell them exactly what you want and where. They need to get measurements anyways.

Bring in a hard copy. Sending or texting pics can pixelate the writing and it’s harder to get a perfect copy.
