Daycare pickup during Winter

Hello, my LO will be going to daycare in a few weeks. Her daycare is about 8-15 minutes walk weather dependent. My problem is we are a one car household. It just doesn’t make sense for us to own 2 cars because 1) I work at a school that’s right infront of my house 2) I am not a confident driver (I learned to drive in my 30’s) Winters where I live can get pretty extreme, temperature can dip as low as -50 with the windchill. My husband works till 6:30 pm (daycare closes at 6), the bulk of his work time are usually on weekends but he still has to work 2-3 days a week, so on those days I will have to pick her up. Do you, ladies and gents, have suggestions or product recommendations to make winter pickups a little easier? Thank you in advance.
